- Regular hours are our adoption hours and hours in which you can reach a staff member by phone at 563-388-6655 option 1. You may also email adoptions@hssc.us. We do not place holds on animals. - Pickup hours are to search for a missing pet. We do not process adoptions during pickup hours, only during “regular” hours. - Animal Protection Services (animal control) is available for calls for service Monday - Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday - Sunday 8am to 4pm. You can reach them at 563-388-6655 option 2. Non-profit animal shelter giving every adoptable pet a second chance! Our mission is to help animals in need by providing shelter, adoption services, and support resources for the community with care and compassion.
