San Diego Humane Society is our region’s safety net for animals in need. We provide the animal services for 13 cities: Carlsbad, Del Mar, El Cajon, Encinitas, Escondido, La Mesa, Oceanside, Poway, San Diego, San Marcos, Santee, Solana Beach and Vista. A national leader in animal welfare, we care for more than 40,000 animals annually by providing shelter, veterinary care, behavior training and more. We also contract with jurisdictions to provide animal control, lost and found, licensing and humane law enforcement services. SDHS creates a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. We are a private nonprofit organization, unaffiliated with any other humane society or SPCA.
