PLEASE NOTE: We have adoption walk through hours Mon-Thurs from 2-4pm (no appointment needed.) For appointments outside of these hours, please contact us at 530-894-5630 The City of Chico owns and operates the animal shelter located at 2579 Fair St., Chico. The Chico Animal Shelter is a section of the Chico Police Department. As part of Animal Services, the shelter takes in stray and surrendered dogs, and sick and injured cats from within the incorporated portions of the City of Chico. The City of Chico also has dogs as well as cats available for adoption at the shelter. Volunteers are welcome.
